The Dementia Society, Perak offers members of the community the opportunity to access a day care facility for clients afflicted by dementia related illnesses in their Dementia Day Care Centre called the BebeLEC Day Centre.

It provides families and carers with temporary daily respite  for up to five days a week to enable them to care for their loved ones with dementia at home and yet carry on a normal life of work and social engagements. The Day Centre is staffed by trained and skilled caregivers who have good understanding of dementia. The Day Centre has various therapeutic activities implemented and co-ordinated by an Activities Co-ordinator ranging from cognitive stimulation activities, physical movement co-ordination and muscle strengthening exercises in the gym overseen by a physiotherapist to group socialisation and personal body treatment pandering like facial and foot massages and hair styling and podiatry. The day centre also has a research base program affiliated to University Technology Petronas and University Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine, Perak and also students from other universities do conduct research activities.

The Day Centre can comfortably accommodate up to 40 clients with mild to miderate dementia. We have a strong team of volunteers and our professional work embrace and support the input of families and carers which in so doing provides significant relief from their stressors in caring for someone with dementia.
